“I find it wholesome to be alone the greater part of the time. To be in company, even with the best, is soon wearisome and dissipating. I love to be alone. I never found the companion that was so companionable as solitude.” – Henry David Thoreau, Walden

I’ve created this blog, Wildermiss, to post about being active, getting outdoors, and experiencing the wilderness. Sometimes something as simple as pure, fresh air is capable of improving your outlook of yourself and others.

For whatever reason, there are times when we need to do things on our own. I created this infographic as a visual representation for myself and others for things to do by our self. Of course, all of these can be done with family or friends, but sometimes the purpose is to enjoy one’s solitude. Piktochart makes it incredibly easy to design an ad or image for any occasion.

Now, you may be thinking not all of those are outdoors… but what’s stopping you from making them be outdoors? Bake some goodies and enjoy them in your back yard/a special place, set up a hammock and delve into that book, try a new HIIT workout in the park, lay down a blanket and study in some shade, and take your music outdoors – who knows, a choir of crickets may join in. (linked are a few of my favorites)

This is just a foundation to spark some new adventures, I challenge you to try a few!
